Luggage
What luggage are you planning to take with you on your Peace Corps journey and why? I’m completely lost in this department.

You can get a handle on luggage at One Bag . It’s more geared toward travel than moving (even though Peace Corps packing is a combo of both). However, it will teach you luggage basics…if you’re looking to narrow down your choices.
To answer your question, though: I’m bringing LLBean’s Rolling Adventure Duffel (slightly underpacked) and a daypack as a carryon. I’m also wearing a very silly looking travel vest on the plane to cheat and bring more items in all the pockets.
Argh…the URLs didn’t post. Here they are:

Do a google search for LLBean rolling adventure duffel if you’re curious about it…

Because it’s only 9.2lbs and $100 each.
Great quality too. That’s what I’m packing.
I’m bringing a large Kelty pack that I’ve had for awhile and some small, undetermined duffel. As my carry-on I’m bringing The Osprey Porter 46: http://www.rei.com/product/803307. It will also work as a weekend trip bag. My friend has had one forever, uses it for all kinds of stuff and loves it.
Hi there,
I know this is a bit late, but I’m planning on ringing the NorthFace Base Camp Duffel, as PCVs we get 50% off. (http://www.thenorthface.com/catalog/sc-gear/equipment-luggage_duffels/base-camp-duffel-xl.html) and a Gregory pack I’ve had and used while hiking/camping in the past (http://www.amazon.com/Gregory-Womens-Deva-60-Backpack/dp/B000AXRQLI). Good luck to you in Kenya!
