Invite in Transit!

I received an email yesterday morning from my Placement Specialist. She told me she had follow-up questions for me and told me to call her when I was available. It was weird because this Wednesday I kept getting this feeling that I’d hear from placement either Thursday or Friday….It’d be cool if I had a sixth sense, but I think I was just being hopeful. So I called around 11:45, hoping I’d make it before lunch break, assuming their lunch break was 12-1 (I don’t know). No answer. I left a message. I was a little disappointed, but not surprised.

About 30 minutes later I get a call from my Placement Specialist. I had to call her back because I was about to put some water in an autoclave that would eat you whole. My best way to describe that thing is a very large oven that could fit a person or two inside. Think Hansel and Gretel. Anyways, I called her back. Had a very awkward phone conversation. I think it was a mixture of excitement and not being completely prepared. I think I talked too much, but what’s done is done. She was very nice and she gave me some tips on how to deal with a few situations. She told me I was qualified for service and that in the next couple of days she’d look for a program that’d match me best. She said I’d know my country in about 2 weeks. The conversation was 22 minutes long.

The way she worded it, I thought she wouldn’t send an invitation until next week, but no! It was sent that day, Friday! I’m hoping I’ll know next week. That would be awesome. Today, I woke up to an application status change and…

It’s getting scarier to me now. It’s becoming more tangible with each passing day. I’m going to do something special for when I open my invitation. Stay tuned!
