[Somewhat] Long Time; No Blog

So I’ve pretty much disappeared for the past 2 weeks. I’ve been quite busy…well sort of. I had finals  a week ago and they went okay, but the good news is I made straight As again! Just one more semester left. Have to end it with a bang! The day after finals, I hosted an Ugly Sweater Party. It was a lot of fun. There were quite a few gems people wore. There was an Ugliest Sweater competition. The picture is of the winners. I got them candy for prizes. Besides that, I have been just working and chilling out. It’s been really nice to have school off. I sleep all the time! I went to see Tron to celebrate my good grades and I really liked it. The main reason I went to see it was for Daft Punk.  They did an AMAZING job composing the music for the movie. They are still definitely one of my favourites!

Peace Corps…hm. Nothing really going on in that department. I found this pretty cool PDF. It shows how many volunteers they expect to have for the year and which programs are in each country. It was nice just to have something like that spelled out. Here’s the link. If you’re looking through it, I recommend doing a search on the country your curious about because there’s over 100 pages of information.

I know I have 5-5.5 months left before departure, but I’m trying to figure out everything I’ll want to have with me. I think I’m going to make a “Wishlist” for now. It’s nothing specific to any country; just some general stuff that I don’t want to forget when I’m scatterbrained the last month before I leave. Please feel free to post your opinions/packing lists/experiences. I’m curious!

Alright! That’s it.

    Thanks for that link!
It is so very nice to have something officially Peace Corps and up to date to study.

Definitely! I’m just unsure when the 2011 Fiscal Year starts. Does it start at the end of 2010?

The wiki pages for each country put the links to the Welcome Books that the Invitation Kit tells you to look at. There are suggested packing lists hiding in there so even though you don’t know for sure where you’re going, they’re good to take a look at and see what things/suggestions they have in common that you wouldn’t have thought of otherwise. Especially with all of the holiday sales going on now. Mine suggests bringing duct tape – brilliant, but never would have crossed my mind otherwise.

You know, I remember seeing those a long time ago, when I discovered PCWiki. Thanks for mentioning it because I totally forgot about it. Duct tape is such a good idea! I thought the same thing when I was reading over a PCV’s packing list.
